It’s not too late to support ALS research and the Friends of Rusty Team for 2013 ALS ride

The Mid Atlantic Masters Bicycling Organization (MAMBO Kings Racing) was founded in 1995 with their title sponsor, Danzeisen & Quigley Sports Specialists. Comprised of riders from New Jersey, Delaware, and southeastern Pennsylvania, the team has been one of the most successful Masters teams in the region.

MAMBO Kings Racing's riders have won more than forty State Championships and have accumulated over 150 victories in their 18-year history.

MAMBO Kings Racing is a member of USA Cycling, the New Jersey Bicycling Association, and the Pennsylvania Cycling Association BAR organization. MAMBO Kings Racing runs the NJ Individual Time Trial Championship in Chatsworth, NJ.

The team won the Garden State Individual Cup on five occasions and the Garden State Team Cup seven years in a row. Team members have also earned podium finishes in national championships, including when Rusty Potts took the bronze medal in the Masters National Championship Criterium in 2001, and more recently when Jeff Appeltans took home the silver in the 2013 Cyclocross National Championship.

MAMBO Kings Racing is still proudly sponsored by Danzeisen & Quigley Sports Specialists, a leader in cycling for over 30 years in the Metro Philadelphia area. More recently, sponsors have included Fuji Bicycles and Till Paint Company.

The MAMBO Kings have a special and ongoing relationship with the cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Rusty Potts of the MAMBOs team mates was stricken with the disease several years ago, and raising money for ALS research remains an ongoing focus for the entire team. Read more about Rusty and about ALS on the ALS Info tab, or consider joining the Friends of Rusty Team for this year’s ALS ride.
